Abraham and Williams' Report

During the week sales have been held at Shannon, Palmerston North, Hunterville, a horse fair at Marton, and a clearing eale.on behalf of Mr Gideon Palmer, of' Colyton..' Sheep have been mostly conspicuous by their absence, the few which came forward meeting with .keen competition., At Shannon on the 30th ult. we had a full entry of cattle which sold in accordance with recent rates.

At Palmerston a yery small entry turned up, including three, small pens of sheep.. There seemed to be a somewhat better demand for cattle.

' At Hunterville the yarding comprised principally cattle' whioh met with fair demand. . ■ -.-

At.Marton a large number of horses were offered, amorig them being some useful young draughts which met with a ready sale. Quotations:— At. Shannon —Forward bollocks £7, 3-yr steers £5 2s 6d, 2-yr do £4i dairy ■ cows in milk £4 to £6 10b, springing do £4 10b to £7 ss, .springing heifers £4 to £5 ss, yearling and 18 mos do £2 5s 6d to £'3 10s, weaners 21s to 345, store pigs 15b to 21s, slips lis to lis 6d. At Palmerston—Ewes and lambs 20a 3d to 24ir 3d, fat ewea (good) 218,,1 d, forward wethers 18s 9d, 3-yr bullocks £6, 18-moB steers. £8 7s 6d, springing heifers £5 to £5 18s, heifers and calves £3 7s 6d-to £8 lis, fat cows £5 14a to _25 19s, dairy oows £4'-to £6. yearling heifers £2 6s to £2 lis, weaners 30s. At Hunteryille—Veaners lings 303 to 455, springing heifers £5 6s, empty heifers £2 18s 6d to £3 ss, 18----months to 2-*<yf steers £3 7s 6d to £3 los,;-3-yr bullocks £5, f at! cows £5,10s to;£6, springing cows *£3 10s to £5 7s 6d, hoggets 15s 7d to 16s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 19_ 6d.
