Arbitration Court.
(Per Press Association)
CHBISTCHUECH, Octobei-5. The deferred awards of the Arbitration Court in the tanners' and curriers' disputes, heard at the last sitting of the Court here, were received to-day. In the tanners' case the hours of labour are fixed, as desired by the employers, and in wages for the various branches a mean has been struck. The Saturday naif-holiday is granted from June 1 to November 30; sub-contracting is disallowed. The curriers' award is altogether new, and contains largely clauses agreed on by the parties. Only five points were disputed at the hearing, and among the holidays the Sovereign's birthday is granted or a Show day instead. In working machinery, preference shall be given to curriers, provided they are experienced and competent. Curriers shall control new machinery iE no expert is available. •
