The Premier and party returned from the West Coast to-night, catching the ferry boat for Wellington. - A deputation from the Trades and Labour Council waited on the Premier and asked for a full public enquiry into the conditions prevailing at Sunnyside Asylum, on tbe ground of the great public mistrust in the management. The Premier replied that the Minister had arranged that attendants should have the right of direct appeal to him, and as the House had already rejected the proposed Appeal Board, it would be inadvisable to reconsider tha question at present. He failed to see any need for an inquiry, as the whole trouble had arisen through the dismissal of two men in consequence of inquiry, by a thoroughly capable man.
