(Beceived Oct. 4, at 9.14 a.m.) . LONDON, Oct. 3. The National' Conservative Working Men's Conference, representing Lancashire, Cheshire, and West Yorkshire, held a meeting at Manchester, when it was unanimously resolved that it is absolutely necessary to reconsider the nation's fiscal policy with a view to the maintenance of trading interests, securing employment, and the social comfort of industrial workers!
The Pall Mall Gazette says Messrs Burns and Bell's appoal emphatically confirms Mr Chamberlain's view of the colonies.
The Chronicle describes xlusiralia as deal to reason, so much talk about bargains and preference being likely to end in a bad feeling between the colonies and the Motherland. It emphasises the selfish tendencies' which regarded the maintenance ot the Empire only as a means of securing sixpence for the pocket.
