United Trades' Picnic.
The programme'tor the second annual United Trades' picnic is advertised in this issue. A sports -programme of 14 events has been, drawn up, including ranning and cycling events; there will also be a tug-of-war for teams of 12 men.; aside. The committee have secured a.' liberal supply_ of trophies.for the various events. -The*trophies "will be oh'view atMr.W. Park's, bookseller, window; from Saturday till Tuesday. The trains leave Pahnerston at 9.30 a.m., returning from Foxton at 6.20 p.m. ■■ The prices for tickets are 3s for adults, children^ halfprice, including, admission' to grounds. A refreshment booth will-be on the ground, and excursionists can get a supply of ready made tea free of charge.
