Messrs Dalgety and Co.. Ltd., held their fortnightly'sale at the Masterton yards on Wednesday, The yarding of both sheep and cattle was smaller than usual. Bidding was spirited, and almost all lines were quitted privately or under the hammer. Pat ewe 3 topped the season's price at 22s 9d, others 20s, owes in lamb and with.so per cent, lambs 225; prime fat 'sows £7 ' 7s, springing heifers jC3 5s to £4 13s, aged cows in calf JE3 Is 6d, springing cows £4 to £5, 2-yr empty heiters £3 16s, 18-tnos £2 18s 6d, yearlings £2 4s, light porker pigs 14s 6d to 193. weaners Bs. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows:—We had a fair yarding of cattle at our sale yesterday, but sheep were confined to butchers' lots.
