CHRISTCHUECH, Septembw 29.

The finals for the Aastralaaian Boxing Championships were decided to-night in the piesence of- one of the largest audiences seen at a boxing contest here.

la most of the. events the contests were closer, and'some very clever work was done,' the Australian visitors being particularly prominent. The following wero the results :—

Bmtam', Weight Championship—T. Dickonsen* /N.S.W.)i Bsc" l.Vlb, the present holder defeated D. Brown (Q.), 7st ISilb, and won tbachampionship. Feather < W.eight Championship— J. Dowridge (Q.), Sit 131b, the present holdor, won the championship, beating A. Thompson (N.Z ), Sst 121b. It was soon evidapt the New Zealander was outclassed, \ Dowridge bemg far . too clever in every way. The champion contented himself with placing blows, never hittirig hard, and avoided Tbompson's attontion-by skilful dodging. Light Weight Championship—D. Parbury (N.S.W.) 9st 101b; present holder, beat J Bag(ey.(Q )' 9st 131b, and won the championship. Bagloy exhausted himself towards'thefinish and Parbury, who had bean; scoring Bteaaily all through, punished him by placing hits with both handei ' ■■» ....
