Manawatu Christmas Meeting.
Increased Trize Money
The Manawatu Racing Club Committee met last night. W. McConkey's application for a trainer's license was recommended.
Messrs L. McKclvie and A. Eobinson were elected new members.
Messrs Watson and Eyre's tender for printing was accepted A number of accounts were passed for payment. Tho other business was the passing of the programme for the Christmas meet _ng. A considerable increase was made tfn tho prize money. The first day was allotted eight races, with a 'total prize list of £1320 as against £1120 last year. For the second day £1120 was spread over eight races, last year's. amount being £1040. Details are as follows:—
'First Day.—Awapuni Stakes Handicap, 1,00 soys.; First Handicap Hurdles, 120 soys.; Manawatu Cup Handicap, 500 soys.; First Handicap Hack Hurdles, 100 soys.; Maiden Hack, 100 soys.; Nursery Handicap, 120 soys.; Hack Flat Handicap, 100 soys.; Grandstand Handicap, 130 soys. '
Second Day.—Summer Handicap, 120 soys.;; Hack Flying Handicap, 100 soys.; Second Handicap Hurdles, 110 soys. ; President's Handicap, 350 soys.; Second Handicap Hack Hurdles, 100 soys.; Juvenile Stakes^-Handicap, 120 soys.; Christmas Hack Handicap, 100 soys; Farewell Handicap, 120 soys.
