Mouusey and Co. have to report a brisk business at their mart sale last Saturday. growing popularity of this firm is evincing itself every day, and they have found it absolutely necessary to enlarge their live stock accommodation by the addition of several pig pens. Pigs came forward last Saturday far in excess of advertised numbers, our pens being taxed to their utmost; still, buyers were there, and at the conclusion of the sale not a pig. remained unsold; No difficulty is found in disposing of any quantity, showingfthat pigs are .in great, demand this season. - Bidding- was spirited., and • satisfactory > prices were obtained. Poultry, of late, has been bringing high prices, no doubt owing to this being the laying season. Ducks are in great demand, prices topping the market. Good table fowls are wanted and now is the time to sell, prices being very good. Good laying hens always find a ready sale. Ducks,. 4s 6d to 7s 6d; table fowls, 4s 6d to 8s; laying hens, 4s to 8s; turkeys, 12s to 13s; guinea fowls, 4s to Bs. Good business was done in produce, table potatoes bringing 36s to 48s; pi<* do, 24s ; seed potatoes, Up-to-Date, £4° Beauty of Hebron, £3 ; Early Rose, £3; White Elephants, £3 10s; others, £2 to £3.
