NELSON, THis day.

A fire in Collingwood-street last night gutted a house, occupied by James Grigor and D. Hurley. Grigor had a narrow escape, the fire attacking the stairs before he could be roused. He saved only a few shillings, and was uninsured. The house was insured for £150.

AUCKLAND, This Day. The Union Company has ordered from Mr Charles Bailey, of Auckland, a steam lighter, |;for Gisborne, of about ninety tons, fitted with powerful engines.
