Scottish Entertainers.
v In connection with the visit on October 4th and sth of these two Scotch artistes, the South Island papers are loud in their praises of what they term " a unique entertainment." Everybody knows of the fame of the Kennedy Family, yet it would appear that the. Scottish Entertainers are a; superior combination. Speaking of the first perform- • ance in Oamaru (one of the- Scottish "homes" of the South Island) the local evening paper says:—"They sustained their reputation as exponents of Scottish song. As a singer, Mr Spence at once pleased the audience. His best effort was ' Afton Water,' which was handled in a masterly manner." Speaking of Miss Donaldson, the same journal says: " This lady possesses aremarkably sweet voice, and has it under thorough control. Her mezzo-piano singing was exceptionally fine, and in the ' Sieve Boat Song' this was heard to great, advantage. Miss Donaldson throws into her.performance-a dramatic effect which is -well; in: keeping ;with;the best.tradi--'tion'sl"-: ■ '■.','* ",::•■} :-,:l '. Vv.' ■'•■.■ •''' ••. a'
