Manakau Resident Bonnd Over to keep the Peace. Before three Levin justices, W. A. Milne was on Saturday charged with threatening to do bodily harm to his recently divorced wife, Catherine Milne. The Court was crowded.

T. A. Sowman, publican, of Mana; kau said on one occasion accused pulled out a revolver and swore to God he would shoot his wife. The revolver was leaded. He warned Mrs Milne, and she left Manakau. Accused was muddled through drink.

Harry O'Donnell deposed that he lived at Ohau. He met Milne in Weilington in August.- Milne eaid "All my troubles are over. ". You ought to have heard the lias my wife spoke. acainst me, I bad a mind to pull this' out," showing him' a revolver. Milne had been drinking heavily. James McLeavey, Ohau, deposed he met Milne at Levin last Friday and went with Milne in his trap to We'raroa. Saw Mrs Milne, who refused" to see Milne, who said, " Ail right." ■ Milne had been drinking, bub was rational. Archibald Gray deposed he saw Milne on Saturday at Weraroa. Tried to per^ suade him to go. home, but he refused. Afterwards he took a six-chambered revolver from him,- loaded, and a letter as under: " Dear madam,—The Court fixed things yesterday. North Cape or Bluff, when we meet, I will fix things. Yours in .anticipation, W. A. Milne." The letter was dated 19th of August, 1904.. •

Accused was bound ever to ' keep the peace, himself in surety of £200, and tsvo sureties of £100 each.. .

A prohibition order was granted against .Milne.
