Large numbers of visiting horses have arrived to compete at the Wanganui Jockey Club's Meeting on Thursday and Friday, The tracks this moraine were very busy, but most..of the,, work done was of a serviceable nature only. The best gallop,was put up by Convoy. The son of Vanguard went two rounds at a- solid pace, the last six furlongs being done in lmin 20-ec. The Cup candidate is very well. Halberdier is none the worse for the race at Rangitikei. He covered two miles pleasingly. Catspaw did' a fast three

furlongs, and appears in capital condition. Roseal i 3 suffering from influenza, but is improving. Shrapnel, looking particularly .well, did useful work. Valkyrie jumped the schooling, hurdles in good style. Trumpery, Defoe, Armistice, Full Cry, and many others were out, but were not extended. Sir George Clifford's.team and the Porirua representatives are expected to arrive to-day.
