Horse Parade.

The annual sire horse parade, under the auspices of, the Manawatu A. & P. Association, was held on the Show Grounds this afternoon. The almost incessant rain that fell during the morning and afternoon no doubt prevented a large number of people, particularly country visitors and breeders, from being present, but in spite of the adverse circumstances there was a very good attendance, and the greatest interest was evinced in the proceedings, each horse, irrespective of class, being scanned with lively attention.' Messrs Gillies, Munro, and D. Pringle were the stewards in charge of the parade. With barely an exception all the horses entered put in ian appearance, and the parade though ..numerically weaker than last year was ■■. quite as successful from a quality point of view and that is of very much more importance than number alone. As may be imagined the thoroughbreds came in for a lot of attention and they were well worthy of it. With the exception of the .Government's horse Malachi all the thoroughbreds present were well known to the public, and Malachi gained many friends among those who saw him for the first time. The draughts, trotting and. Shire horses were all shown in splendid condition and they with/the blood horses reflected the greatest credit on.their owners and those, having charge of them.
