Received September 20, at 9.2 a.m. LONDON, September 19.
As illustrating the ferocity during the recent assaults on Port Arthur two companies of Japanese hoisted a white flag, "which the Russians disregarded, while the Japanese rear, disapproving of the surrender, shot down 600 of their comrades.
Wounded men were seen to be hopelessly appealing for succour for a week.
