AUCKLAND, This day. The premises of A. H. Kew have been raided by the police on suspicion of being used as an opium den. Eight Chinese and one European have been arrested; • A quantity of opium smoking apparatus was seized.

_ The body of Walter White, an operation on whom led to friction between the Hospital Board and Dr. Hardie Neil was exhumed yesterday, as a result of a request by Dr. Neil. The object is to ascertain the exact nature of the operation performed, concerning which contradictory statements have been made.
