College-street School Committee.

Tho above met last evening, the members present being - the Key. C. C. Harper (chairman), Messrs Rutherfurd, Browne, Carville, Hall (2), Goodger, Hansen, and Rcvuns.

Tho Headmaster was in attendance, nnd informed iho Committee of tho month's work at the school. He stated the roll number was 3-10, and tho highest attendanco 020.

A letter was received from tho Town Clerk, asking the Committco to have the school represented as largely as possible at tho Coronation celebration.-.

Miss A. 0. Innes wrote resigning her position as teacher.-Rosolved that this Committfo receives , Miss Innes' resignation with regret, and desires to place on record its appreciation of her £;ood work in tho school, with which she has been connected since its opening, and wishes her every happiness in tbo future.

Tho Inspector's report on tho High and primary schools was received, and proved to bo of a very satisfactory nature.—The Commit ton unanimously resolved to congratulate tho headmaster (Mr Gray) and staff on the excellence of tho report.

Tho Board wrote, forwarding for the committee's consideration, tho applications of Misses C. E. Barry, E. H. Kubtze, and E. M. McGwen for the position of mistress of tho school. Miss Barry was recommended by the board as being tho most suitable applicant, and tho committee agreed with tho recommendation, and appointed Miss Barry.

Resolved that a hearty vote of! thanks bo accorded to MrT, P.' Smith for handing over to tho committee the amount duo to him for labour at tho school ground. Also tc Mr O'Heilly for tho gift of n modelling tray. It was resolved that ten loads of gravel be obtained for the school grounds.

Resolved, that tbo secretary ask the Borough Council to improvo the state of the footpath lending to the school, Resolved that tho board bo nsknl to eroot a firowood B hsd for the school.
