The attendance was not largo but thero was moro animation about tbo sale than thero has been lately, and buyers operated more freely, tho bulk of tho entry changing hands in most cases under tho hammer. Cattle weru in short supply, but what did come forward sold freely, especially anything iv iho shapo of a fat beast, one pen of fat cows making £G 17s Gd. Quotations :— Sheep — F«t and forward wethers. 10s Gd to lls. Ld; forward wethers, 10s to 10s 3d ; 2 and -t-tooth store wethers, 7s yd to 8s; light fat ewes, 10s 2d to 10s 6d; good forward ewes 9s Gd ; good storo ewes 6s 6d to 7s G3 ; mixed 2-tooth. 7s 3d; '1-tooth ewes in lamb, Ss; good lambs, i)s ld ; medium, 3s to 3s -Id ; cull lambs, 2s 4d to 2s 9J.

The New Zealand (Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows :—At our Palmerston North sale on Thursday we had an average yarding of both sheep and cattle, the latter consisting principally of dairy stock. There was a fair attendance of the public, but bidding foi sheep was rather slack. Wo were successful in placing the bulk of the stock at ruling prices.
