The Englishmen went first to tho wickets, Fry and Maekren opening the innings. Fry retired immediately before either batsmen scored, Hill taking '?, n C?. SJ', catch off Hopkins at short leg. flairjitsinhji succeeded, and Hopkins produced a sensation by at once clean bowling the new comer, the second wicket falling without a single run being scored. Jackson filled the vacancy, and ram is now falling, notwithstanding which play was continued. Jackson making the most of his opportunities put on run*.
