Admiral Beaumont is advised by Acting-Prime Minister Do-akin that the French Government have issued a regulation in the New Hebrides similar fo the British with reference lo recruiting native women and the importation of firearms and spirits. The effect is to remove an advantage French traders had over British. The action i. regarded as showing a desire to work in harmony with Great Britain.
