With reference to ;hc Times' comments on (he Queensland debentures into inscribed stock, it is explained that the money vras for the repurchase of the Mount Kussell estate, the stipulation being thut the payment to the vendors ■should be in inscribed stock. Government intended repurchasing other estates on the same terms, but the Agent-General advised further conversions would injure the credit of the Slate.
