But recently a White-book has boon published containing, I huvo no doubt, all tbo despatches having reference to iho Spiim Ivip operation* which hal miched the W.ir Ollice. in Maiv.li I'JOO. This Whito-bnok, however doe? not contain some of iho most important documents bearing on the subject; and thoso now published, if considered ly themselves, givo a totally i.. correct view of tho matter, and one which rcllccts most injuriously upr.n tho military reputation of myself and those who sorved so well under me I mm that my conduct will bo justified by the publication by his Majesty's Government of tbo complete documents—a course which I should iniinitoly prefer to undertaking my own justification. Hut tho military reputation of myself and thoso who were under mo involved Tending such Government qc ion (which I trust may bo tuken without ilcla\), 1 refrain from troubling you with any further statement at present.
