The latter mixture contains the Bame com- ! pouents as the W.M.E. Co.'s No. 3 Mixture, the proportions being a little different. The former combination points to tbe fact, now generally recognised, tbat the value of basic slag, also known aa Thomas' jehosphate, has been greatly under-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s No 4 Mixture contains onei third of Tho&as' Phosphate. A perusal of the report of Mr Gillandera, the manager at Momoh.ki, embodying the resn'tj cf the experiments refsrred to, which will be found in the Severnr* Report of tne Department of Agriculture, would amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty in eelecting the moat suitable manures.
