Altogether it contains 9 rooms and a spacious hall, and is surrounded by an ornamental and serviceable verandah. A notable feature of the budding are the ceilings of the drawing room, dining.rdbm, and hall, which have been finished with a massive cornice and ornamental centre-pieces. These have all been nicely stippled in white, wbile the mouldings have been picked ,Ou| m choice tints to harmonise with the i wall papers. The painting ana papering has been executed by Messrs Osgood and Hancock in a very artistic and tradesmanlike manner, and they well deserre the compliment Mr Torstensen p»id them. The other tradesmen concerned were Messrs Holben aria Kirk, plumbers, and Mr James ,Ctoeck, who did the brickwork. At the social, at which all the workmen were present, a number of toasts were given, Preluding that of "The Queen," and " Mr and Mrs Torstensen." Songs were also rendered by representatives of the builders, painters and plumbers, and the pleasant gathering broke up with the sioging of the Nationat, Anthem.
