Lieutenant Cameron patrolled the river for eight miles with 12 men, in search of the enemy, but did not see any. Captain | Chaytor, accompanied by Lieutenant Walker, with the balance of his company, scouted the hills for some distance, sighted small groups of the j enemy, and brought in 300 sheep, four I head of cattle, and two horses, be&ides some turkeys and other poultry. The ! poultry is to be seryed as a luxury for dinner,"
