It is stated that Lord Koberts has called the attention of the War Office to the wretched boojts/pi'ovided for the soldiers, andtTTfre following extract (from a private in the Duke of Coinwall's Regiment) is to be relied upon, "Bobs" has hot complained without cause :— "I am . -wearing a pair of trousers which I m^to~oi3t of an old flour-sack (writes an rntantry man in Maple Leaf Column), and we have to march perhaps fifteen or twenty miles with bits of wood strapped to your bare feet. How does that strike you, eh ?'
