SPECIAL MIXTURES can be made at any time tj tuit farmers. NOTE-—The "M" Manure gave the best results in proportion to cost out of nineteen experiments with Champion Swede Turnips at the Government Experimental Farm, at Momahaki, in 1897 (see page 170, Fifth Report of Agricultural Department) :— The experiments made at Momohaki with various Manures upen turnips in the Season 1898-1899 show that the best result was obtained from a mixiure of one-third steamed boneduss and two-thirds baticslag (Thomas' Phosphite), whilst the be3tre=.uit, at a minimum cost, was from a mixture of one-ihird h wes' Superphosphate and twon thieds of the W.M.E Co.'s "M" Manure. The latter mixture contains the Rame ccm« pocents as the.W.M.K Co.'g No. 3 Mixture, the proportions being a little different. The former combination poiata to tho fact, now generally recognised, that the value of basic sbg, also known as Thomas' Phosphate, has been greaily undsr-estimated. The W.M.E. Co.'s No 4 Mixture contains onethird of Thomas' Phosphate. A perusal o' the report of Mr Gillanders, the manager at Momoh,ki, embodying the result? of the experiments !et3rred *o, which will be found in the Bt venth Report of the Department of Agriculture, would amply repay any farmer who finds a difficulty in (electing the most suitable manures.
