A New Minister.
MR McGOWAN ACCEPTS OFFICE
The Peat 'says:—The portfolio of Mines has been offered to Mr James McGowah, the member for the Thames, and it is understood that he has accepted it.
As there are already six Ministers with portfolios, the limit allowed by law, it will be interesting to learn where Mr McGowan's salary is to come from.
