AGENT GENERAL'S CABLE.

The Agent General cables that General Buller reported that MajorGeneral Barton, with two battalions, assaulted and carried Pieter's Hill, 3339 ft high, south of Ladysmith, Lieut.-General Warren assailed and captured the enemy's main position. Sixty prisoners were taken and the Boers scattered. A REPULSE TURNED INTO VICTORY. Received March 1, at 10 a.m. London, February 28I That portion of General Boiler's forces operating south of Ladysmith who made an attack on the enemy at Langueri wacht's Spruit on the26th February were 1 baffled in their attempt, after sustaining heavy losses, chiefly on the part of the Inskillings and Royal Dublin Fusiliers^ The forces were withdrawn across the Tugela to recover from their repulse, brft recrossed the river at a more favorable" spot next day. «-< .*.
