— ♦ (Per Press Association) ■ Wanganci, December 27. Poter D. Hogg, a well-known resident of Wanganui, was found dead this morning insido tho door of his residence. It appears deceased entered his house last evening without a light and fell against the table, striking the back of his head, rupturing a blood vessel. His wife and family were away on a holiday visit. Deceased wits 40 years of age and formerly a .Borough Councillor. Auckland, December 28. The yacht containing a party of 23, for which some anxiety has been felt, turned up safely last night. Dunedin, Deceinbor 27. Mr J. A. Millar, M.H.8., was to-night presented with a silvor tea and coffee sorvice and a purse of 200 sovereigns in commemoration of his record vote of 9045 at the goneral election, and in recognition of past services. The presentation was made by the Mayor. Tho Hon J. 6. Ward and several members of both Houses were present and 'sp'okc. New Piahouth, December- 27." Tho fire brigade demonstration to-day was a great success, and JGI27 was taken
