(Per Press Association.) Timabd, July 18. The fire in tbeupptrfloor of the South Canterbury Woollen Faotory last bight destroyed two spinning frames and damaged {others, but not seriously.' The roof was much burned in some plaoes, and will need extensive repairs. In the carding-room below damage was done by the water dripping through the floor, and also in the weaving-room in the basement. The fire was just breaking in'o tbe stock arid finishing rooms, separated by a brick wall, when it was stopped, A good deal of the stock was damaged by its hasty removal. It wilk probably take some time to restore the spinning machinery to working. order* The frames destroyed must bo replaoed. from Home. Tho amount of the damage has not been estimated.
