A private geological surveyor has reported to a syndicate, for which ho is acting, the discovery of immense deposits of quartz near Maryville. They aro similar and rival the famous Mount Morgan formation. A large dyke over 500 feet wide is said to cariy payable gold all over the dish. Prospects were made over a large area, and in each instance gave free payable gold, .averaging from half to an ounce to the ton. The richness increases as the depth increases. A ton of stono treated at Bulla yielded one ounce and ten dwts to tho ton. There are millions of tons of stone. The Government geologist has left on a visit of inspection, and will report to Government.
