Bell Williamson Solicitors: Brokers: Messrs Williamson & Co. EXTRACTS FROM MEMORANDUM OP ASSOCIATION. The objects for which the Company is established are:— (a). The granting of loans on the mortgage of freehold and leasehold property m the colony of New Zealand, repayable on such terms by instalments or otherwise as may be agreed on with the borrower, and subject to such bye-laws and other regulations of the Company as maybe made affecting the same. . (b). The granting of loans on the security of ' sheep, wool, cattle, flax, agricultural produce, and other personal property generally ; but not the making of advances or loans on or by discounting bills of exchange or promissory notes, nor the grantIng advances or loans upon any security not herein generally subscribed as a proper subject f or. advances or loans. (c). The purchasing, selling, exchanging, holding, leasing, and disposing of ireehold and leasehold property m the said colony. (d). The borrowing and raising of any snm or sums of money for the purposes of the company, from any person or persons, for any period or periods, and either by receiving the same on deposit, or by the issue of debentures, or by the giving of a mortgage over any property of the company, or by transfer by way of mortgage of any securities to the company, and the paying of interest on such monies so borrowed at such rate or rates as may be agreed upon. (c). The receiving from any person or persons periodical instalments of money payable on certain fixed days, and of such nmount as may be agreed on with the person or persons so investing, and the contracting to pay, and the paying to such person or persons at the expiration of any fixed period commencing from the payment of the first of such instalments, any sum of money as may be agreed upon. (i). The entering into, contracting for, carrying out, and doing all such other acts, matters and things as may be incidental to, or conducive to the attainment of all or any of tbe above objects, or all or any objects of a like or similer nature, &c, &c. This Company will combine the advantages derived from the experience of many other similar and successful institutions now working m the colony. The general principle aimed at is, that the interests of all concerned shall be purely reciprocal : the main features being,— 1. To provide capital whereby residents and others will be enabled to acquire property, freehold or leAStshold, m town or countiy, by means of easy periodic^ repayments which leave a reason able margin of profit to the Company, whilo being amply protected iv point of security. 2. To enable persons possessed of laDd to erect buildings thereon, either by progress- payments or m a lump sum, repayable by instalments, or at the ex- ' piration of a fixed period of years. 3. To receive deposits, and to afford a safe and profitable investment both for capitalists and during accumulation of smaller savings by others. 4. To grant loans to members on the value of their shares; and, generally, to encourage m every possible wayconsistent with sound security — members m the direction of thrift and inde pondence, by enabling them readily to acquire property, and particularly to obtain a comfortable freehold home. 5. It must be obvious to every resident, and te every observer of the extraordinary progress of these localities, that this Company will provide for an absolute and urgent necessity which exists at the present time. 6. It is consequently believed that the residents, and the public generally, will warmly welcome and support the advent of such an institution, the first m the district. 7. Also, that they will appreciate the .privilege of obtaining admission as shareholders to 9 financial undertaking: of this description, at the commencement of its operations, when neither any large sum representing paid-up shares, nor the usual heavy premium on such are* required, as m the case ot most other financial Companies m the Colony now carrying on business. 8. The Directors will consider each ' application for shares on its merits, and will allot accordingly, but they reserve the rigbt to refuse any allotment absolutely if they shall think fit. In such cases the deposit will be returned m full. : ' Applications for shares, may be made to the Secretary at Wellington and Petone, either directly, or through: the Brokers of the Company, or any Agents.; Evory application must be accompanied by the required deposit, or by a receipt from any Branch of the Colonial Bank for the amount of such deposit. Application forms may be obtained from the Secretary and Brokers, their Agents, or at any Branch of the Colonial Bank of New Zealand. ApDlication for Shares will be received meantime by the Brokers of the Company.
