Fire near Wellington.
(UNITED PEESB ASHOjCIATION ) Wellington, Saturday.. I A fire' started at Eaiwarra, two miles from town, on the Hutt Road, at 1 o'clock this afternoon, m a two-story house, occupied by J. Barlow. There was a brisk ■ breeze blowing down the valley, [ arid the fire threatened tbe whole township. The Wellington Brigade went out, but the pressure of water was so great jthat^the. hose jurist and nduriog the delay two 1 more cottages were burnt. The ■fire was then got under. One of the jhouses was only bought and occupied last week. Insurances are not obtainable, but. the. London and Liverpool Office is. concerned. Fireman Parsonage slipped while entering: a cab and broke his leg. The causa of : the fire was a defective chimney. , .. ' '•!•■'■;■■ -•
