'7 PALMERSTON v. FEILDING.
This maTch took pltot at Feilding on Snturdav, and resulted after a very exciting gam* Jn a victory for Feilding. Palmerstdn i>layed one man short during the first, spell. Manning, Dungan, G. Smith, and Skerman, took the places of F. Smith, Willis, Stallard, and J. Moffatt ; and ; for -Feildiog, Corkery 'playodin; the place of W. Broughton; The game started at 3.25, aud^the first spellf was hotly contested, neither side ■coring although Feilding had the best of itjUhe^btfil being on the Palraeniton goal lineup t» within the last 10 minutes of the spell, Pilmeriton playing a jerand up-hill game. ' ' Curing the latter part of theiecond spell, Ihimmpspn got through by a grind rush, aiad secured first blood for Feilding. This resulted m agoal kicked by Hartgill, and just before time' was called ,Guiney got through and scored another try for Feilding, from which no goal r* suited, I although well kicked by Hartgill. There i« no donbt that had Palmeraton had their proper b'acke they would have dove much better, at the forwards were getting the best of it m the second spell Feildiug thus won by 7 points to nil. After the match the following team were picked to represent -Manawatu v. Waogaoui, at Palnerston, on July 3rd.
