Wesleyaii Anniversary.

The public tea meeting and concert m connection with tne above church took place last evening and was well attended by members of the church and visitors. The tea meeting was held m the Wesleyun Hall commencing at 6.30 when a large number partook of an excellent repast previous to the adjournment to the Church where the Oratorio Paradise was subsequently rendered by the choir under the baton of Mr S. Co/Hartley, Herr Norber^ assisting 1 with yiolin accompaniment and Mies.Mowlem presiding at the organ. The solos and • concerted items were successfully rendered by Mesdaines Leigh, Kibblewhite, Bunn, Beaven and Hoe, Mis ies Grace,, Hartley, and Linfcon, and Messrs G. Kendall, W. Kendall, Grimes, Grace, H. Kibblewhite, and J. Mowlem. During an interval m the performance Mr Grace the Secretary and Treasurer read the report. The balance sheet was also read. Mr Grace uaid he had heard it stated m the Square by one person that they were m a terrible positioii,£l4oo m debt. They had decided therefore to make the statements public just read. If alj present were to give £2, they could wipe off the debt. Mr Bunn then moved votes of thanks to Mr Hartley, Miss Mowlem, Herr Norberg, the singers, and the ladies who provided the trays. He further stated re certain halfcrowns collected during Conference, he had received 50, making a total of all received £12 11s 6d.
