(TO THE EDITOR DAILY STANDARD.} Sir,— As secretary of the local football team, m order that a greater public interest may be taken m the game, I think it proper to give you particulars of the arrangements made, for this season. Firstly, there being; three teams, Foxton, Feilding, and Palmeretoh North, who have been m the habit of having regular matches, it has been decided, m order to foster the game, to form union, and to play for a cup of the value of £10, to become the absolute property of the club winning the most matches, during two successive seasons, or three seasons at intervals; 'and, m order that these should be played, the following programme has been adopted : — June 12th, 1886— Palmewton v, Foxton, at Foxton ; June 19th— Palmerston v. Feilding, at Feilding ;*July 17th— Foxton v. Feilding. at Feilding; July 2|4th-ir-Foxton v, Palmerston, at ; ; Palmer stdn ;' July 1— [ Feilding v. Palmerstonj. ;^V Palmerston ; August 7-rFeildihg vi "fdkfon t '*i~ Fdxton; August 21~Chanip1qn Teiim v. Picked! r^eam from ioiihg Olubaj on Champion Team's ground, In'addition to the above, the following matches have been- fitted :— July B— Manawatu County v. ■ Wanganui, at Palmerston North ; August. 14 — Wanganui v. Manawatu County, at Wanganui ; July 10— Marton v. Paltnerston, at Palmerston. Also negotiations are being made with Halcombe to play a match and return match.
