The Ly-ee-moon Disaster.

THE INQTJJUST.

IMPORTANT DISCOVERY.

The Hobart Mercury, received per Doric, states that at an inquest on the bodies washed ashore from the wreck of the Ly-ee-Moon the jury returned the following verdict :— •• We find that deceased came to their death by drowning:, and from the evidence before us we consider that gross aeglect hasbeen shown, but there has not been nnfficient evidence before us to point to the guilty person or .persons. The Coroner— You say you consider grots neglect has been shown, but there is not sufficient evidence before you to point to the guilty peraon or persona. The Foreman— Yes, sir ; the matter lies between the evidence of two, one against the other ; that is hot sufficient. The Coroner — Well, as it is your verdict, I am bound to receive it, gentlemen. At a meeting of the Victorian Marine Board the wreck of the Ly-ee-uioon formed a special topic of conversation, it being stated that members of the Board, on referring to the Green Cape chart, had found that if the third officer bad carried out m their entirety the instructions of the captain, as detailed by him m his evidence before the Coroner, it would have landed the vessel exactly on the point she struck.
