From a Wellington paper we learn that the Public Works Departrneut have everything ready for the letlsug of new contracts m various parts of the Colony, aud it is proposed to advertise them m advancp, so that immediately the Estimates are passed the works may.be commeuced without delay. This will be good news for the country generally, and particularly for the labouring classes, large numbers of whom are constantly being thrown out of employment as various public works are completed. ;
