Rich Find of Gold.
: • ("united press association.) Thames, Friday. A few weeks ago a new discovery of gold was made at Waiomio, situated about ten miles fvbtn Thames. Splepr did loose prospects of gold were obtained and m consequence a number of claims m the vicinity were pegged out. The prospectors m a day or two had a parcel ot 2£ tons of general dirt and about 2001 b of picked stuff packed to the Thames for treatment by one of the batteries. The crushing was finished today for the rich return of 160oz of retorted gold, which is valued at about £3 5s per ounce.
