The following informatton lias been specially supplied to the Lyttleton Ttmes :— WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
The sum of. £10,000 has been voted for the erection of a bonded warehouse and for harbour improvements at Di«rby. ! There are 400 inimrs on the field from Derby, and 300 from Cambridge Gulf. Derby is the cheapest place for supplies. There is no water within three miles | of the diggings, and m the dry season the miners will have to go twice that i distance. Eight hundred ounces of gold have already reached Derby, and there is supposed to be more m the hands of the diggers. Indications of gold have been found one hundred. miles nonrer Derby. i Diggers should land with at least £100 to get an outfit for a three or four months' trip.
