The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the foilowing telegram from their London office, dated 28th mst : — Wool — The sales by private contract, which, by last report, reached 8500 bales, now aggregate 15,000 bales. The trade m the manufacturing districts is slightly better, and prospects for next sales are improving. The Antwerp sales continued brisk, and closed at an average improvement of Id to l£d per ft on last sale's prices. Tallow — Stocks are within moderate compass. The demand is partly speculative and partly consumptive. Good mutton is worth 25s 6d per cwt ; fine beef, 24s 6d ; and good beef, 22s 9d per cwt.
