AUSTRALIAN NEWS.
(electric telegraph. — copyright. ) (reuter's telegrams.) Sydney, Monday. A meeting of pohcyholders m the Australian Mutual Provident Society was held last night to consider a proposal to establish a branch office m London. Owing to the wet weather, there was only a small Attendance. A resolution wag passed opposing the proposal to establish a Lon-' don branch. Heavy rains are general throughout the Colony.
