(Continuation ef report.) Estimates, receipts, and expenditure of Public Library read by Town Clerk. Moved by Cr Abrahams, seconded by Cr Hawkins and carried, That the Estimates :is laid before them be approved. Cr SCuwart remarked that the Library accommodation was the worst of any that he had ev«r seen m a civilised community. Proposed by Cr Snelson, seconded by Cr West, and carried v That by the next sitting Of the Council^ a general and a Library vote be made for the financial year from April Ist, 1886, to March 31st 1887. ' ' The Burgess Roll and Defaulters' List was laid befere the Council, aiso'a list of names of those ratepayers who had pjaid up sinee "31st March, and were thereby entitled to enrolment according to the Act. •-..'.' Cr Abrahams asked if the following had paid up :— Batt : reply, Yes; W. Buller,not paid ;E. Brigh well, not paid ; A. Dundas, paid. Moved by Cr Hawkins, seconded by Cr Snelson, and carried, That the Burgess list be amended by adding the names ot those burgesses who have paid their rates since the 31st March, and otherwise m accordance with the facts, and that the same be signed as required by law, and the Mayor, Crs Suelsou and McNeil be authorised to sign accordingly. ' An application from Mr Cole to be placed ou the roll m the place of Mr St. John was granted. : '•'■•*. . The meeting then adjourned.
