The Legislative Assembly debate on the Colonial Treasurer's Budget Statement closed to-day, and the House went into Committee to consider details. London, May 1 4>. '• The debite on the Home Rule Scheme i-was resumed last night m the House of 'Commons, when the Right. Hon. Sir Henry James spoke at length against the Bill, which he declared was contrary to the supremacy of Parliament and the unity of the Empire. The Right Hon. Mr Campbell Bannerman, Secretary of War, then addressed the House m defence of the measure, after which the debate was adjourned until Monday next. Athens, May 13. T The Chamber of Deputies has been snnimoned by the King, and the troops which were proceeding to the front have been stopped.
