The Aye says :- "There are on fewer than five bank officials under durance for peculation of the funds m their charge — namely, the manager of the Commercial Bank 6f Sopth Australia, the manager of tliej.o-flnch; of the same institution at "Y ankalilla,, the manager of thebranch Bank of New Zealand «t Sydney, the accountant of the Pollard, brance of the Union IBank, Victoria, and the teller of the City of Melbourne Bank. All these men occupied good positions and were m receipt of good salaries, and yet they are charged with having carried on a series of systematic robberies, extpmling m some ca*es over to years, nud varying m amount ivow o J6350."
