Opening of Parliament.

(united press association*, Wellington, Thursday. t The weather is very wet tor the opeming of Parliament. There are already 10 members of the Upper House and 38 members of the Lower House m town. The third session of the ninth Parliament was opened at 2 o'clock this afternoon by His Excellency the Governor. The D Battery of Artillery fired the usual salute, and the Wellington Navals formed a guard of honor. About 40 members of the House of Representatives were present at the opening ceremony. The Financial Statement will probably be delivered within a fortnight after the opening of Parliament. The Hon. Mr Barnicoat will, it is understood,, be asked to move, and the Hon. Mr Shirmiski to second, the Address m Reply m the Legislative Council. Mr Bevan moves the Address m the Lower Chamber, but is not yet Known who will second it. :..■" :■■'•''
