MB GLADSTONE'S IBISH SCHEME.

.; It isjrumoured that Mr Gladstone has resolved not to push the Bill embodying his Home Rale policy to its final late in the present session. It is said that sfter . the second/reading has been' agreed to, he will postpone further dealing with. th« question with the intention of reintroducing the Bill mext seseion in a modi* fiedform. i May 3* '" . Mr Gladstone has issued a manifest* to his Midlothian constituents, in which he states that his infirmities prevent himfrom addressing them personally. His defence of his proposals for the settle* ment of. the Irish difficulties is most eloquent. He admits the honesty o£ purpose of the members who have seceded from the Ministry and the Liberal party, in consequence of their objection to his . Irish policy, but he expresses his confidence that the country will give its support to that policy. Mr Gladstone announces that he is willing to concede - autonomy to Scotland and Wales as wall as to Ireland.
