Heavy Weather m the South.
(BNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION ) Christohurch, Saturday. The rain has ceased, and the floods subsided. In 24 hours, ending at 9 a. re, 3.52 inches of rain full. Much damage has been done to bridges and culvcits m the Akaroa district. Tjmaru, Satutilay Bain has now ceased, after three days, downpour. No serious damage is reported. Dunedin, Friday. The strong .gale blowing and the ram have put a .stop to shipping work, and the departure of the Koratiui and Mahinapuu was delayed. Later. Therein has ceased for some hours. So farno delay has been occasioned on the railways, Invercargill, Saturday. Bain has fallen continuously to-day, and shows no sign of ceasing.
