A meeting of creditors of Thomas Surtnan, brewer, was held thim afternoon The debtor's statement showed secured liabilities amonnting to £19,781, and unsecured to £2493. The assets are—secured, £15,461 ; unsecured, £2770 C The largest secured creditors are the Bank ot Australasia, £15,000. The debtor laid that the business had been profitable up to the lait three yearn, during which he lost £13,000 m bad debts. He had ne> offer to make. ' It wag resolved to carry on the business for a month till a definite course of action for dealing with the estate was settled, the debtor to be paid £6 a week for his services, and to retain his furniture, valued at £150.
